In the administration of the government of Georgia in Tbilisi, an action was held in support of the ex-president of the country Mykhailo Saakashvili. Members and supporters of the "United National Movement" party gathered near the office building, they demanded the transfer of Mykhailo Saakashvili for treatment abroad.
The participants of the rally brought with them banners and flags with the inscription "Freedom of the Mouse". A large number of police have been mobilized on the spot, SOVA reports.
According to one of the organizers of the action, Alik Kuprav, the actions will continue until Mykhailo Saakashvili is released.
According to the Tbilisi_life Telegram channel, at the rally, the head of the END Levan Khabeishvili proposed to leave political differences, not to waste time and energy on confrontation, but to direct time and energy to the liberation of Georgia, to the "derussification" of the country, its "debusinessization".
He also stated: "there will be demonstrations in all regions, districts and villages of Georgia, there will be protests everywhere, obviously, the main thing will be the freedom of President Saakashvili, the European future of the country, and the well-being of citizens."
In parallel with the action in Tbilisi, several dozen people with similar demands gathered in Batumi, Marneuli and Kutaisi.
Protest actions in Georgia took place as part of the "World Day of Struggle for the Liberation of Mykhailo Saakashvili" on the initiative of the famous Russian opposition blogger Mark Feigin.
Representatives of the Ukrainian and Georgian diasporas took part in the few rallies and protest gatherings in several countries. During the rally near the White House in Washington, one of the activists tied herself with a scarf to the fence of the US President's residence as a sign of protest against the refusal of the Georgian authorities to release Saakashvili, Radio Liberty writes.
