Russian oppositionist, lawyer and human rights defender Mark Feigin and adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Arestovych announced the international action #SaveMisha in support of the imprisoned ex-president of Georgia Mykhailo Saakashvili. They talked about this on the YouTube channel "FEIGIN LIVE".
They called on supporters of Saakashvili and viewers of the channel to gather near the Georgian embassies in their countries on January 4 from 12:00 to 14:00 local time with the demand to transfer the politician to a foreign clinic for treatment.
"I think that such an action can give the necessary result," said the human rights defender.
According to Feigin, there was no reaction from the Georgian authorities to the appeal, in particular the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, despite the fact that they were "counting on President Saloma Zurabishvili."
Feigin, who recently received a letter from Saakashvili, also said that the politician probably "now it will be difficult to deliver letters." The human rights defender says that this is unconfirmed information.
Oleksiy Arestovych noted that the action near the embassies is not interference in Georgia's internal affairs.
"It's about saving a person," he said.
