Children's ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova boasted to dictator Putin that with his help she "adopted" a 15-year-old boy from Mariupol, which was occupied by Russian troops.
This was reported by the press service of the Kremlin.
"Now I know what it's like to be the mother of a child from Donbas. It's difficult, but we definitely love each other," the ombudsman told the president of the aggressor country.
In turn, dictator Putin noted that the number of people willing to "adopt" Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine is growing.
"I looked at the documents: the number of appeals from citizens has increased by 12%. A significant increase. The number of appeals from our citizens regarding the adoption of children from the Donetsk, Luhansk Republics, Kherson, Zaporizhzhуа regions is also increasing," Putin said.
At the same time, he cynically talked about the "tragedy that is happening in Donbas" and that "during this open aggression in Donbas against our people, of course, children suffered."
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, said that the higher military-political leadership of the Russian Federation was involved in the forced deportation of Ukrainian children.
As of February 8, it was possible to return 128 children from the Russian Federation to Ukraine, whom the Russians illegally took to their own territory.
At the same time, it is known that the total number of Ukrainian children deported to the territory of Russia may exceed 16,000.
