Access to Bakhmut is not closed, but the military administration has introduced a more secure regime. You can get to the city after receiving the appropriate permit.
This was announced by the spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Serhiy Cherevaty, on the air of the telethon.
"Access there is not closed, as some have said, but a more secure mode of access has been introduced. Everything is described on the website of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, there is an opportunity to register," he notes.
Cherevaty added that journalists and volunteers can enter the city after receiving accreditation or permission from the RMA and the Ministry of Defense. However, the military is stepping up security as the occupiers try to capture Bakhmut.
"Given the importance of this settlement to the enemy, accordingly we carry out certain maneuvers with our forces and means, which do not require great openness. Therefore, it is possible to get there for those who need it," the spokesman explained.
According to him, about 5 thousand residents still remain in Bakhmut.
It will be recalled that, according to British intelligence, the Russians do not abandon their intention to capture Bakhmut and advance near Kreminnaya, but the enemy has not yet gathered enough forces for a breakthrough.
