The Munich Security Conference will discuss the war crimes committed by the Russian Federation in Ukraine

The head of the Munich Security Conference, Christoph Heusgen, has put the issue of prosecution for war crimes related to Russia's attack on Ukraine on the agenda of the annual high-level meeting at the end of next week.

The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, will take part in the meeting, Heusgen said in an interview with the German Editorial Network (RND) on Thursday.

Next Monday, Heusgen will present the entire program of the security conference, which will be attended by high-ranking officials from around the world.

Regarding the downing of passenger plane MH17 in July 2014 over eastern Ukraine, Heusgen said: "It is no surprise that the Kremlin was also involved in this terrible act." According to the findings of international investigators, Russian President Vladimir Putin played an active role in the downing of MH17. The investigation team announced on Wednesday in The Hague that this emerged from wiretapped telephone conversations. There is "compelling evidence" that Putin decided to provide pro-Russian separatists with an anti-aircraft missile that later shot down the plane.

We will remind you that Poland advocates that Western leaders at the Munich Security Conference not only discuss the possibility of transferring fighter jets to Ukraine, but also make a decision on this issue.
