Erdogan: the death toll in Turkey has risen to 16,710

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the death toll from Monday's earthquake had risen to 16,710. This is reported by TRT Haber.

 

 Speaking at a press conference in Osmania, he also said that another 64,194 people were injured.

 

 Erdogan also reported that 6,444 buildings collapsed as a result of the earthquake.

 

 The total death toll in Syria has risen to 3,192, including 1,930 in rebel-held areas in the northwest, according to the White Helmets civil defense group, and 1,262 in government-held areas of Syria, according to the Syrian government mass media

 

 The total number of wounded in Syria across all affected areas rose to 5,158: 2,258 in government-controlled areas and 2,900 in rebel-held areas.
