The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyі, called on the EU countries to introduce sanctions against the Russian nuclear industry, missile and drone manufacturers.
He said this during a speech at the EU summit in Brussels.
"Russia has created the threat of a radiation disaster in Europe, and the Russian nuclear industry is still free from global sanctions. There are steps that still need to be taken. For example, the application of sanctions against the entire missile and drone industry of Russia, the corresponding part of the IT sector of the terrorist state. After all Russian missile terror will be a threat until the source of such a threat is destroyed," Zelenskyі said.
He reminded that thanks to the already introduced sanctions, Russian energy carriers will never again be a weapon against Europe.
"Finally, everyone saw how Russia treats the Europeans and the energy markets. Thanks for the sanctions packages that have already come into force. But have they sufficiently limited Russia's aggressive potential? This path must be fully covered so that they have neither the ability nor the desire to waste effort to destabilize any country in Europe," the president added.
Before the summit, Zelenskyі made a speech in the European Parliament, stressing that Ukraine will be a member of the EU and is doing everything necessary for this, even in war conditions.
