The Verkhovna Rada approved President Volodymyr Zelenskyi's decrees on extending martial law and general mobilization from February 19 for another 90 days until May 18.
People's deputy of Ukraine Yaroslav Zheleznyak reports this in Telegram.
The draft law on martial law was supported by 348 deputies, 344 on mobilization.
The deputy reported that Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the NSDC, presented the projects at the Council meeting.
"To approve the decree of the President of Ukraine dated February 6, 2023 No. 58 "On extending the period of martial law in Ukraine"... To approve the decree of the President of Ukraine dated February 6, 2023 No. 59 "On extending the period of general mobilization," the documents state.
Laws are immediately announced through mass media and take effect from the date of publication.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyi submitted bills to the Verkhovna Rada on the approval of presidential decrees extending the period of martial law and on extending the period of general mobilization.
Drafts 8419 and 8420 of February 6 proposed to extend martial law and mobilization for another 90 days after February 19.
It will be recalled that Ukraine imposed martial law on the morning of February 24, 2022, after the start of a full-scale Russian invasion. After that, the Council continued martial law and mobilization.
