The leader of the ruling party of Georgia, Iraklii Kobakhidze, after criticizing Ukraine for its treatment of the prisoner Mikheil Saakashvili, said that Kyiv should first "repent of its sins", referring to the fact that Saakashvili worked in Ukraine for a long time in public positions, while in Georgia against he was already under investigation.
This is reported by "News-Georgia".
"Before the representatives of the Ukrainian authorities will talk about something, they must repent of their past sins, correct the current crimes and only then move on to other matters," Kobakhidze said at the briefing.
He specified that what he means is that Ukraine "kept the criminal Saakashvili in its country for years" and that Ukraine allegedly still has "about a dozen outstanding criminals, including those involved in torture and similar crimes", who have already been convicted in Georgia. "Moreover, some of these criminals hold very high positions in the Ukrainian government and they sent Mikheil Saakashvili to us," Kobakhidze said, without naming names.
