The Secretary General of NATO said on Thursday that he discussed cooperation and support of Ukraine with the President of Israel in Brussels, UNN reports.
"The historic visit of the President of Israel, Yitzhak Herzog, addressed to NATO allies for the first time," wrote Jens Stoltenberg on Twitter. "We discussed our close cooperation and support for Ukraine."
He added: "As we see increasing cooperation between authoritarian states, it is more important than ever to stand up for freedom and democracy."
In their brief speeches to the press, both politicians expressed their willingness to strengthen ties between Israel and the military alliance.
Earlier, Herzog visited the plenary session dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day in the European Parliament.
