The German "Patriot" air defense system battery has arrived on the territory of Poland.
This was officially announced by the Bundeswehr.
The communique noted that with this step, Germany strengthens its contribution to the security of NATO's eastern flank and demonstrates solidarity with its allies.
About 350 soldiers joined the German unit. If necessary, its number can be increased to 650. "The duration of the mission will be closely coordinated with our ally Poland," the message emphasizes.
We will remind, after the incident with the fall of the rocket in the Polish border village, Germany and Poland agreed to place the German Patriot in the country.
Later, Germany, on behalf of the United States, agreed to transfer the Patriot to Ukraine as well. The Ukrainian military has already begun to learn how to use the systems on the territory of the United States.
