NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg "strongly" welcomed Germany's decision to send Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine, saying it could help Kiev defeat Russian forces.
"I strongly welcome the leadership of Germany in providing Leopard2 tanks to Ukraine in consultation with other NATO allies and partners. At a critical moment in the war with Russia, they can help Ukraine defend itself, win and win as an independent state," Stoltenberg wrote on Twitter.
Germany has decided to supply Kiev with Leopard 2 battle tanks. Berlin will also satisfy the requests of Poland and other partners for the transfer of Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
