The EU announced a summit in Turkey to mark the anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine

The head of the European Union representation in Turkey, Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, said that a big summit will be held in Istanbul before the anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

This was reported by the Turkish news agency Anadolu.

According to the representative of the EU, the summit should take place on February 22 and a Ukrainian government official will be invited to it.

"This is also a way to express our support for Ukraine. Last year, on February 24, the beginning of Russian aggression was a defining moment in European history. European history is our shared geography. People often refer to the US security history of 9/11. It was a moment of change. I can to say that there is an equally important security situation in Europe on February 24, 2022. We have a war on our continent, a brutal big war, a war with consequences far beyond the borders of the European continent," the ambassador emphasized.

Meyer-Landrut emphasized that the geopolitical and economic consequences of the war will be discussed at the summit, and noted that the results of the war have already gone beyond the borders of Ukraine and affected everyone.
