German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced a spring package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of more than 1 billion euros.

He said this on the sidelines of a Rammstein-style meeting in Germany, ZDF reports.

According to Pistorius, the package will include 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, 7 Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery installations, additional guided missiles for the Iris-T air defense system and another Iris-T anti-aircraft missile complex.

In total, the "spring package" includes the supply of military aid worth more than a billion euros, Pistorius said. Thus, the total value of the provided German military aid will exceed 3.3 billion euros.

"Germany will not stop and will not give up its support for Ukraine," Pistorius said.

The minister also said that Western allies have not yet reached an agreement to provide Ukraine with Leopard 2 main battle tanks, but he instructed his ministry to conduct an inventory of tanks for potential delivery.
