Defense ministers of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Great Britain, Poland and representatives of a number of European military departments at a meeting held on Thursday in Tallinn pledged to support Ukraine with military equipment of various purposes, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
"We undertake to collectively seek unprecedented supplies of military equipment to Ukraine, including main battle tanks, heavy artillery, anti-aircraft defense equipment, and ammunition," reads the statement approved by the participants of the meeting.
They noted that this assistance "is carried out from national reserves and resources and illustrates mutual understanding of the seriousness of the situation and our commitment to urgently increase and accelerate support to Ukraine."
The participants of the meeting called on allies and partners to follow their example at the upcoming meeting in Ramstein and "introduce planned support packages to ensure Ukraine's victory on the battlefield as soon as possible."
The meeting of defense ministers of the Baltic countries, Great Britain, Poland and representatives of Denmark, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands and Slovakia was held at the initiative of the heads of the military departments of Estonia Hanno Pevkur and Great Britain Ben Wallace.
It also became known that Great Britain plans to send 600 Brimstone missiles to Ukraine to support the country in its struggle.
British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said this on Thursday at the Tapa army base in Estonia during a meeting with other defense ministers.
"We are also going to send another 600 Brimstone missiles." This is incredibly important to help Ukraine dominate the battlefield.
If President Putin expects us to be bored this year, he is wrong. We will plan for this year, and next year, and the next year, and the next year," he said.
Denmark is ready to hand over CAESAR self-propelled artillery installations to Ukraine. Plans to send 19 howitzers to the Armed Forces.
The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Denmark writes about it.
The Danish government has already held consultations with the parliament during the meeting of the Committee on Foreign Policy.
Defense Minister Jakob Ellemann-Jensen welcomed the decision of the parliament and stated that self-propelled howitzers are currently very necessary for Ukrainian soldiers.
"I am glad that the vast majority of parliamentary parties support this donation. Denmark has been one of the most active donor countries since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. We must continue to be so," the minister added.
Meanwhile, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that if Germany does not give permission for the transfer of Leopard tanks to Ukraine, Warsaw "will do the right thing itself."
This is reported by CNN.
Responding to the question about the delay in Germany's permission for the transfer of Leopard 2 tanks, Moravetsky reminded that Poland offered Ukraine 14 tanks.
"At the same time, we must ensure that others also meet these needs. Among these others, the Germans have been the least active so far," he said during a video interview, returning from the International Economic Forum in Davos.
