The total cost of the new US military aid package for Ukraine will be $2.5 billion, and it will include Stryker infantry fighting vehicles for the first time.

CNN learned about this from two informed interlocutors.

According to one of them, the package is not yet fully agreed, but the work could be completed by the end of this week. Previously, the same terms were mentioned in an interview by an official of the National Security Council, John Kirby.

With a value of 2.5 billion, the package will be one of the largest that the USA provided to Ukraine after February 24. It should include additional Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and, for the first time, Stryker infantry fighting vehicles, which will significantly increase the number of already promised/transferred armored vehicles. The list also includes MRAP armored vehicles equipped with improved mine protection. It also includes additional shells for Western howitzers and HIMARS.

According to the interlocutors, the package will not include the longer-range ATACMS missiles, which Ukraine has been asking for for a long time, or the Abrams tanks, with regard to the latter, the United States explains this by difficulties with logistics and maintenance that may arise.
