The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is expanding its presence at Ukrainian nuclear power plants - missions have been launched at the Rivne and Chornobyl NPPs, the head of the organization, Raphael Grossi, said on Twitter.

"Even more IAEA experts have arrived in Ukraine... launched the IAEA support and assistance mission at the Rivne NPP (ISAMIR). In the coming days, we will have teams at all Ukrainian NPPs. They will provide technical assistance and help reduce nuclear danger during the conflict," - Grossi reported on January 17.

Already today, the head of the IAEA updated the information.

"The IAEA continues to expand its presence in Ukraine. Today I launched the IAEA Support and Assistance Mission in Chernobyl (ISAMICH). Our specialists will remain at all Ukrainian nuclear power plants to provide vital assistance in the field of nuclear safety during these extremely difficult and challenging times," - Grossi pointed out.

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko welcomed the start of IAEA missions at all Ukrainian nuclear power plants. He noted that this will allow for an internal assessment of all the dangers and threats to nuclear and radiation safety posed by Russia's actions.
