Canada will transfer 200 more Senator armored personnel carriers to Ukraine to help fight against Russian aggression.

Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand reported this in a comment to the National Post.

Note that Anand is currently visiting Kyiv.

"I just announced an additional transfer of 200 armored personnel carriers manufactured by Roshel in Mississauga, Ontario, which employs approximately 80 Ukrainians who have come to Canada and are now building vehicles that Ukrainian forces will use to defend their homeland," she said.

The Globe and Mail notes that it is about the Senator armored personnel carrier.

Anand noted that these vehicles allow safe transportation of personnel and equipment, as well as medical evacuation. They allow soldiers to detect threats early, and their armor will help protect troops.

She also noted that since the beginning of 2022, Canada has allocated more than $5 billion to Ukraine in the form of combined military, economic, humanitarian and other assistance, including more than $1 billion in military aid. In particular, the country transferred an anti-aircraft missile system, anti-tank weapons and ammunition. Canada also purchases armored vehicles and ammunition for Ukraine.

In addition, the Minister of Defense added that the Canadian training mission, Operation UNIFIER, conducted training for more than 35 thousand Ukrainian servicemen.

Anand also reported that during her visit to Ukraine, she met with Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov.

It will be recalled that Canada hopes that the NASAMS system, which was purchased for Ukraine, will arrive as soon as possible.

In addition, Canada said whether the country will transfer Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
