President of the Russian Federation Putin submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation a draft law on the termination of the international treaties of the Council of Europe (CoE) regarding the country. The document is placed in the database of the Chamber of the Parliament of the Russian Federation.
It is noted that the document was registered and sent to the head of the lower house Vyacheslav Volodin.
On December 30, the government of the Russian Federation presented the dictator Volodymyr Putin with a proposal to the State Duma to terminate the Council of Europe treaties on Russia.
On February 25, 2022, the Council of Europe suspended Russia's membership in this organization for its illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In addition, on October 13, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution recognizing the Russian regime as a terrorist. Out of 100 delegates, 99 voted "for", one abstained.
