Deputies are collecting signatures for an appeal to the OPU regarding the dismissal of Arestovych

In the Verkhovna Rada, people's representatives have already started collecting signatures for an appeal to the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, with a request to dismiss OPU adviser Oleksiy Arestovych, Detector Media reports.

In addition, the representatives of the VRU want to hear from the OPU an official statement, which finally dissociated the team of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi from the "private expertise" of Arestovych on military topics.

Deputies demand from Yermak to release Arestovych after his scandalous statement about the Dnipro.

The People's Deputies came up with this initiative after the scandalous statement of Oleksiy Arestovich in an interview with Mark Feigin. The adviser of the OPU began to claim that the alleged tragedy on January 14 in the Dnipro occurred due to the downing of a Russian missile by air defense systems of the Ukrainian military. The information voiced by Areshtovych at the time was immediately denied by the Air Force Command, which stated that the Armed Forces did not have such means and air defense systems that could shoot down the Kh-22 missile that the Russians launched from the Dnieper.

Thus, under the guise of a status that in the eyes of society guarantees access to real information, Oleksiy Arestovych spread misinformation and useful enemy fabrications.

"Obviously, this was done for the sake of private interests, but in this situation they are completely contrary to the interests of the Ukrainian state and society..." - the authors of the appeal state.

People's elected representatives draw attention to the fact that Arestovych harmed Ukraine with his scandalous statement, as his fake was immediately picked up by Russian propagandists. According to the deputies, the words of the OPU adviser are more reminiscent of political activity and the formation of one's own image than the performance of an informational or propaganda function. Moreover, it is stated that a deputy's appeal was also sent to the head of the SBU, in which it is said that Arestovych's statement corresponds to the act of "treason" by all indications.
