The latest personnel changes in the leadership of the Russian army indicate that they require a combination of the management system and the system of commanding the troops, according to the deputy chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Oleksiy Gromov.
"Since the first days of the war, we have been monitoring the fact that there are periodic personnel changes in the leadership of the armed forces of the aggressor country. If everything was fine with them, personnel changes would not take place with such frequency. The latest personnel changes, first of all, indicate that there is a need in their ranks to combine the system of management and the system of commanding the troops. Not everything works out for them the way they want. We'll see how it goes," Gromov said at a briefing at the Military Media Center on Thursday.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that the new commander of the forces of the Russian aggressor - the United Group of Forces in Ukraine - was appointed Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov. The former commander of the group, General Serhiy Surovikin, was demoted to the rank of deputy Gerasimov.
