Ukraine is waiting for a positive decision of the European Court of Human Rights regarding the admissibility of the case "Ukraine and the Netherlands v. Russia".

Commissioner for the ECHR Margarita Sokorenko said this in a comment to Ukrinform.

"First of all, we expect to hear a positive decision for Ukraine. This is probably one of the most anticipated interim decisions. And the fact that it is interim does not diminish its importance. We hope that the ECtHR will decide that the case is admissible, that is, in other words that the Russian Federation is responsible for human rights violations, which Ukraine claims, in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. A positive decision will open the next stage - consideration of the case on its merits," she said.

According to her, a positive decision in the case will also open consideration of individual lawsuits regarding human rights violations in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"This is already a detailed study of every reported complaint about human rights violations. In particular, we are talking about kidnapping, disappearance, capture, torture, and other complaints that were filed as part of this proceeding," Sokorenko said.
