In Ukraine, as of 11:00 a.m. on January 9, electricity consumption increased due to lower temperatures and increased consumption by industry and business with the start of the working week. This was announced in "Ukrenergo".
In this regard, in order to ensure balance in the energy system, consumption limits have been introduced to all regions of Ukraine, which operate from 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., the state company emphasized.
Exceeding the limits leads to the application of emergency restrictions.
"There remains a difficult situation with electricity supply in the front-line regions in the east and south due to significant damage to power grids during hostilities. In addition, at night the Russians fired at one of the generation facilities in the south of the country. for the damage and occupation by the enemy of a number of power plants that produce electricity, among which is the most powerful Zaporizhzhya NPP," Ukrenergo added.
It is noted that Ukrenergo, electricity producers and operators of distribution systems are constantly working to restore damaged objects hit by enemy missile and drone attacks.
The company urges to consume electricity wisely, to use energy-intensive devices alternately. This makes it possible to reduce the load on the power system and reduce the need to apply restrictions.
