Kyiv asked Tbilisi to hand over the Buk complexes provided to Georgia by Ukraine during the 2008 war.

This is stated in the article of Andrii Kasyanov, the temporary charge d'affaires of Ukraine in Georgia.

"The Ukrainian side is consistent in its requests to all international partners, including Georgia, for the provision of weapons, military equipment and ammunition, and also openly stated the vital need for weapons at the beginning of the Russian Federation's large-scale invasion of Ukraine," he noted.

Kyiv asked to transfer the Buk complexes, which were transferred by Ukraine to Georgia during the 2008 war.

Ukraine's request also included the Javelin anti-tank systems transferred to Georgia by the United States. Regarding the latter, there was not only agreement from the US side, but also a proposal to replace them with new complexes.

"Despite the fact that the Georgian government categorically refused to provide military aid, Ukraine opposes the use of this issue in internal political disputes and rejects any accusations of attempts to draw Georgia into a war with the Russian Federation," Kasyanov said.

At the end of December, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Iraklii Garibashvili, said that he thinks that what official Tbilisi is doing to support Ukraine is enough, and said that he is "unpleasant" with Kyiv's latest statements.

Earlier, Garibashvili ruled out military aid to Ukraine.
