Germany is discussing the supply of Gepard to Ukraine with two countries - Spiegel

The German government wants Ukraine to get more Gepard anti-aircraft guns, so it is negotiating with the two countries.

The German newspaper Spiegel learned about it.

According to the publication, in addition to the Marder BMP and the Patriot air defense system battery, the German government also wants Ukraine to receive Gepard anti-aircraft guns. Therefore, negotiations are already underway with two states that still have Gepard stocks and a lot of 35-millimeter ammunition.

There is no agreement on supply yet, but there is a cautious confidence in Berlin that Ukraine may have more Gepard in the coming months.

Gepard, 30 systems of which Germany already delivered to Ukraine last year, proved to be very effective on the front line. According to military circles, this system is particularly effective in the fight against drones launched by Russia.

Berlin has already promised Ukraine seven more Gepards in December. If up to 30 additional installations of this type are delivered, it will significantly strengthen Ukraine's air defense.

On January 5, after a telephone conversation between US President Joe Biden and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the White House announced that the US plans to transfer Bradley infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine, and Germany - Marder armored vehicles. It was unofficially reported that it could be a 50 Bradley.
