Ukraine needs to switch to a contract army after the war with Russia ends with the victory of our country. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal reported this in Telegram.
"After our victory, we should move to a strong contract army and at the same time provide everyone with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that will help in the defense of the country if the enemy attacks again," the head of government emphasized.
We will remind, according to the decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, which was approved even before the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, the call must be canceled in the country from January 1, 2024.
In its place, "intensive military training" lasting several months will appear, emergency workers will be replaced by contract workers, and the number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will increase by almost a third.
