Dmytro Lubynets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, said that he intends to meet with the Russian Ombudsman Tetyana Moskalkova in January and discuss the release of prisoners, including civilians. He reported this on Facebook.
According to Lubinets, the Russian side wants to organize a separate site for civilians.
"We will agree on this this month. I would not like to rush ahead, because I understand that society is not interested in the process, society wants to receive a result. But this month we will have a meeting with Moskalkova (the ombudsman of the Russian Federation), where we will separately discuss the issue of the release of civilians," he said.
The ombudsman also reported that the Ukrainian side has many "worked out options".
"But we do not know whether the Russian Federation will agree to them," he said.
According to Lubynets, 1,596 civilians of Ukraine were released from captivity in the Russian Federation.
