The Security Service of Ukraine announced suspicions against two Russian military commanders for shelling Ukraine

The Security Service announced the first suspicions of shelling of civilian objects of Ukraine. Evidence was collected against a Russian general and admiral of the Russian fleet.

 This was reported by the SSU press service.

 According to law enforcement officers, one of them is the long-range aviation commander of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Serhiy Kobylash, and the other is the former commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, Admiral Igor Osipov.

 They were both charged with suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

 Part 2 of Art. 437 (planning, preparation, initiation and waging of an aggressive war);

 Part 3 of Art. 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine).

 It is noted that these are the first suspicions that Ukraine announces specifically for the shelling of civilian objects, the maximum sanction of the articles provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment.

 Thus, in the course of the investigation, the SBU investigators established that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Serhiy Kobylash has been following the instructions of Russia's top military and political leadership regarding the destruction of Ukrainian cities.

 "It was on his orders that the Russians carried out massive rocket attacks on residential buildings, hospitals and critical infrastructure facilities in various regions of Ukraine," the SSU said.

 They said that the enemy uses strategic missile carriers Tu-160, Tu-95MS, as well as long-range missile bombers Tu-22M3, which are armed with cruise missiles of the types Kh-555, Kh-101, Kh-55 and Kh- 22.

 "As for Ihor Osipov, according to the investigation, in the period from February 24 to August 10, 2022, the official gave orders to carry out systematic missile strikes from the Black Sea on Ukrainian densely populated areas. The enemy attacks were carried out with high-precision guided cruise missiles "3M14-Caliber" from Russian warships," the message adds.

 The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
