The head of the Ministry of Energy Herman Galushchenko said that during the New Year holidays in Ukraine, there may be no power outages for several days, if it is possible to avoid shelling of critical objects. He announced this on the air of a nationwide telethon.
This is how the minister commented on the question of whether Ukrainians can count on several days of uninterrupted energy supply during the coming holidays.
"You can definitely count on it, and believe me, now the entire energy industry works 24/7," he said.
At the same time, Galushchenko does not rule out new strikes on power system facilities before the New Year.
"There is a feeling that in fact they have not given up on continuing to attack our power system. They are tied to certain dates. I think the New Year is one of those dates where they're going to try to do as much damage as possible to the power system," he said.
According to the minister, at the same time, every day Ukraine manages to increase the production of electricity and deliver it to consumers.
