Turkey wants a ceasefire in Ukraine, but the war will continue in 2023 - Turkish Defense Minister

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar assured that his country wants a ceasefire on the territory of Ukraine, but, unfortunately, the war will continue next year. This is reported by Anadolu.

According to Akar, Turkey would like the parties in Ukraine to agree on a humanitarian ceasefire. Later it would be complete, and even later - negotiations would probably begin.

"Turkey continues to work hard and resolutely on this issue. We are for the war to end and peace to come," the minister said.

At the same time, Akar reminded that Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine and does not recognize the annexation of Crimea.

"It seems that this war will not end easily. The support of the US, Europe and the West continues. Accordingly, there are preparations, there are plans, there is money put into the budgets. On the other hand, there are statements from Russia. When we combine all this, then will not be a mistake". to say that this war will most likely continue in 2023, despite all our good intentions, cease-fires and wishes for peace," the minister added.
