After the US announced the delivery of Patriot anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine, the Christian Social Union appealed to the Federal Government to provide the same weapons systems to Ukraine.

According to the general secretary of the CSU, Martin Huber, the course of the war showed that it is best to help Ukraine with weapons "to be able to resist Russian aggression." Therefore, the German government should further support Ukraine by supplying weapons, as well as Patriot missiles.
Huber also requested the delivery of Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine.
In addition, the head of the Defense Committee in the Bundestag, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, suggested dividing military support for Ukraine from the United States.
"The United States supplies Patriot missiles, and we urgently need to make a push to deliver Leopard 2 together with Marder armored personnel carriers from our warehouse to Ukraine," she said.
It should be noted that even yesterday the German government stated that the country does not plan to hand over the Patriot to Ukraine, because after handing over three air defense systems to Poland, Germany has no other systems of this type at its disposal.
It will be recalled that on December 21, the USA officially announced the transfer of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine as part of another package of military aid.
