The administration of US President Joe Biden has three different models of what a negotiated end to the war in Ukraine could look like, but only one is supported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. This was reported by the Washington Post.
There are three different models of what a negotiated end to the war might look like, each with supporters within the administration. One of them, part of a peace plan proposed by Zelenskyi last month, includes Russia's withdrawal from all of the territory of Ukraine it occupies, including Crimea and areas of eastern Donbas it captured in 2014. Another is a departure to the lines of 2014. The third level of the conclusion will include Donbas, but not Crimea," the report says.
It is reported that Zelenskyi made it clear that he would not support the last two options, noting that peace can only come when the Russian occupiers retreat from the entire occupied territory.
But in their one-on-one meeting on Wednesday, Biden asked about Zelenskyi's "current thoughts on what that should look like," the senior official said.
But he clarified that "at the moment this is a kind of academic discussion" because there are no signs that Russia is interested in the conversation.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi spoke at the G20 leaders' summit and presented his vision of the way to peace.
Any agreement with the Russian Federation is equal to an agreement with the "devil" and only increases the appetites of the dictator Vladimir Putin, said the adviser to the head of the Office of the President Mykhailo Podolyak, adding that the agreements with Russia, the "bad world" at the expense of the territories of Ukraine - will significantly increase Russian aggressiveness and multiplies new conflicts all over the world.
