The US Department of Commerce has announced new technology export restrictions for the Russian private military company Wagner to further limit its capabilities. This is reported by Reuters.
"The Wagner group is one of the most notorious Naman organizations in the world, which actively commits atrocities and violates human rights throughout Ukraine," said US Undersecretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Alan Esteves.
"We are sending a clear signal to non-state actors seeking to pick up the baton of brutality from Putin's faltering army that the US Commerce Department will not hesitate to act against them," he added.
According to the restrictions, Wagner PMC will now be defined as an "end user of military equipment" and will be subject to significant restrictions if it tries to purchase any technologies created with the involvement of American equipment.
