The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poland, Mariusz Kaminski, said that he was informed about the removal of the deputy head of the State Emergency Service, Dmytro Bondar, in Ukraine for handing over a gift, which later exploded in the office of the head of the Polish police.
Kaminsky announced this on his Twitter.
"I received information that the person responsible for handing over the gift to the commandant of the Polish police to General Szymczyk, the deputy head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, General Bondar, has been removed from his position. Criminal proceedings have also been opened in Ukraine in this case," Kaminsky wrote.
On Tuesday, General Szymczyk, chief commandant of the Polish police, is to appear at the Warsaw regional prosecutor's office for questioning.
Earlier, in a conversation with RMF FM, Szymczyk said that one of the two grenade launchers given to him in Ukraine exploded when he tried to move them in his office. As he noted, he was assured in Ukraine that the grenade launchers were used and safe.
The day before, the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine told how the chief commandant of the police, Yaroslav Szymczyk, was hit by a grenade launcher that exploded at the police headquarters in Warsaw.
