The situation in the power system is complex, outages can be long

As of December 19, Ukraine's power system is in a difficult situation, emergency power outages continue in 10 regions, and restoration may take "a long time." This was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.

The operator notes that enemy drones have been trying to break into energy facilities throughout the country all night.

"Thanks to the professional work of the Air Defense Forces, the enemy did not fully achieve its goal, but, unfortunately, there are several hits to infrastructure facilities," the message reads.

Currently, units of the State Emergency Service are working to eliminate the consequences of shelling. Where possible, repair crews assess the extent of damage and begin emergency repair work.

In the southern and eastern regions, the enemy was subjected to artillery shelling of the de-occupied areas, as a result of which there is also damage.

Currently, the most difficult situation has developed in the central, eastern and Dnipro regions. Schedules of emergency shutdowns have been introduced in Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv regions and the city of Kyiv.

Priority requested critical infrastructure objects. However, Ukrenergo warns that it may take a long time to restore electricity to household consumers.

Despite all the damage, the power industry keeps the situation under control. The power system maintains a stable frequency of 50 Hz and synchronous operation with the European continental grid.
