Currently, Belarusian troops and Russian units stationed in Belarus are not capable of successfully attacking the north of Ukraine. This was announced on Twitter by the intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.
The scouts recalled that on December 13, Belarus conducted an extraordinary inspection of the combat capability of its army.
As noted, the training took place in the north-west of the country, far from the Ukrainian border. In addition, Russia recently transferred additional units of mobilized reservists to Belarus, the intelligence agency added.
"Belarus has facilitated Russia's offensive on Kyiv since February 24, 2022. However, now it is unlikely that Belarusian troops and Russian units conducting training have the strength to carry out a successful offensive in the north of Ukraine," the message says.
Andriy Demchenko, the spokesman of the State Border Service, said that the Defense Forces of Ukraine are monitoring a sudden check of the combat readiness of the Belarusian army. As of December 13, the situation on the border with Belarus has not changed.
