The Sejm of Poland introduced a draft of amendments to the law on the Supreme Court, which is one of the key conditions of the European Commission for Poland to receive European money.
Late on Tuesday evening, the project was published on the website of the Seimas. The Minister of EU Affairs stated that with this project, Poland will fulfill a key requirement of the European Commission.
According to him, at the meeting with representatives of the European Commission, there were signals that the adoption of the project would solve the issue.
One of the key changes is that disciplinary proceedings against judges will be considered by the High Administrative Court, and not by a special chamber of the Supreme Court, which, in turn, will remain and deal with issues of professional responsibility of lawyers and legal advisers.
