The power unit of the nuclear power plant was connected to the Ukrainian power system, which was put out of order after a massive missile attack by the Russians on November 23.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
It is reported that on December 13 at 1:09 a.m., after renewal repairs, another (ninth) 1,000-MW power unit of Energoatom, which was disabled on November 23 as a result of rocket attacks by the Russian invaders, was connected to the power grid. Currently, capacity building is underway.
"This is another step towards the stability of the energy system. All 9 power units of domestic nuclear power plants, which are located in the territory controlled by Ukraine, work to meet the needs of the population and the country's economy," said the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko.
At the same time, the occupiers are still blocking the power units of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP, which continues to consume more than 100 MW of electricity for its own needs from the Ukrainian power system.
