In the case of a military situation, the power industry can quickly restore the power system, but the repair requires equipment that takes at least 6 months to manufacture. Andriy Gerus, the head of the parliamentary committee on energy and housing, announced this on the air of the national telethon.

 He noted that in order to restore the operation of the power system, Ukraine is purchasing new equipment and receiving assistance from Western partners.

 "The equipment, which is in the warehouses of our European partners, is already on its way to Ukraine, it is quickly transferred. However, during this winter, it is impossible to restore all the damaged objects of the energy infrastructure. The Ukrainian energy system is under constant fire from the Russian occupiers, Europe does not have the amount of equipment that Ukraine requires, it takes at least 6 months to manufacture it," Gerus said.

 He also added that not all available equipment in Europe meets the needs of Ukraine, for example, in some European countries the voltage class of transformers differs from our standards. But Ukraine has its reserves, many energy equipment is repaired by its own forces.

 "Today, more than 75% of the country's electricity consumption needs are covered, only 25% of consumers do not have electricity, but these consumers are constantly changing, because there are alternate electricity supply schedules," Gerus said.

 At the same time, despite the fact that the situation with electricity supply in Ukraine is not easy, according to him, it is definitely better than it was on November 23, when there was the most massive Russian missile attack on energy infrastructure facilities.
