Damage to the dam of the Kakhovka HPP will not lead to flooding - British intelligence

Damage to the road and railway bridge spans at the northern end of the Kakhovka HPP dam in the Kherson region will not cause flooding downstream. This was reported on Twitter by the intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.

"The Kakhovka Dam on the Dnipro River is the site of a large hydroelectric power plant, as well as one of the two main road crossing points in the lower reaches of the Dnipro River. "Ukraine has been carrying out high-precision strikes in this place since August, successfully interrupting the replenishment of the Russian army," the report says.

As noted, on November 11, the object received even greater damage.

"It was almost certainly destroyed in a controlled manner by the retreating Russian troops. It was probably done to prevent future Ukrainian advances," the scouts noted.

Three spans of the road and railway bridges at the northern end of the dam were destroyed, making passage impossible, the British Ministry of Defense added.

“However, the three spillway gates under this section of the dam remained largely intact. The current level of damage is unlikely to cause serious flooding downstream," British intelligence said.
