Russian dictator Vladimir Putin expanded the list of categories of Russians subject to mobilization. Now citizens convicted of some serious crimes can be recruited for the war.

 The corresponding decree was published on the portal of legal information of the Russian Federation.

 Thus, Putin allowed the conscription for military service as part of the mobilization of citizens who have an unexpunged or outstanding criminal record for committing a serious crime.

 Putin's decree also lists crimes that will allegedly not be mobilized. These are crimes of sexual violence against children, committing a terrorist attack, taking hostages, organizing an illegal armed formation, hijacking air, water or railway transport.

 In addition, the norm will not apply to such crimes as treason, espionage, encroachment on the life of a public figure, violent seizure of power, armed rebellion, public calls for extremist activities, etc.
