President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that there is no question of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, as the Russian Federation is a "terrorist country". He told about this in an interview with Czech television.
Zelenskiy noted that instead of using the diplomatic route, the Russian Federation continues to shell Ukraine and "simply lies."
"Yesterday they told us that they are ready to stop the war, and today they attacked us with 54 missiles. Are they crazy? Are they sick? I can't understand what's on their mind and what to talk to them about? How to talk to them if they attack us with 54 missiles in half a day? It seems to me that they live on another planet," Zelenskiy said.
He also said that there were already agreements between Ukraine and the Russian Federation that did not lead to anything.
"I think that some country leaders, of course, would like (compromises. - Editor's note). I don't want to give my opinion on this right now, because it doesn't matter. Because I don't care what anyone tries to push us. For us there is nothing new, no surprises. I already know how this story will end," Zelenskiy explained.
At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine only needs a complete victory in the war with Russia, and former compromises with the state were the biggest mistake of the Ukrainian government.
"This is not a matter of compromise. Of course, only victory! But they should take steps back, retreat. They can wait for us to de-occupy our territories. We will lose a lot of people and they will lose a lot of people. And this is a tragedy. Because they can retreat beyond our borders. And that's it," the president noted.
According to him, in such a case, the Russian side can offer to look not for a compromise, but "some solution, how to live in the next hundred years."
In addition, Zelenskiy said that the war will not be considered stopped if the Russian Federation does not want to return Crimea and Donbas to Ukraine.
