The Swiss government will continue the policy of neutrality in the Russian Federation's war with Ukraine

Switzerland maintains its neutral status and does not plan to renounce it due to the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. This is stated in a statement on the website of the Federal Council of Switzerland.

"The Federal Council will continue to adhere to the practice of neutrality, as it believes that such a position is an effective tool of Swiss foreign and security policy," the statement said.

Along with this, they promise to continue humanitarian aid to the population of Ukraine. These are requests for the supply of medicines, tents, mattresses, sleeping bags and blankets.

It should be noted that Switzerland also introduced restrictions on the supply of military products (in particular, helmets and body armor) to Ukraine. The reason is Swiss neutrality.

"Armored vests and helmets are military equipment. They are classified as specific military property in accordance with Swiss legislation. As a result, Switzerland rejected applications for the supply of helmets and armored vests to the Ukrainian army," says the neutrality response.
