Two convoys with French armored vehicles for the NATO battle group have arrived in Romania

Two convoys of French armored vehicles have arrived in Romania, which will replenish the armament of the NATO battle group in the country.

 This was reported by Digi24, citing the Ministry of Defense of Romania.

 The equipment arrived in the evening of October 23 through the checkpoint in Nedlak, on the border with Hungary. It is supposed to replenish the armament of the multinational group of advanced presence of NATO, deployed in the area of ​​the settlement of Chinku in the center of the country. The first convoy consisted of lighter, the second - heavy armored vehicles.

 On the way to Romania from the base in France, the equipment covered more than 2,000 kilometers, the transfer continued since October 18.

 We will remind, after the open attack of the Russian Federation on Ukraine, NATO decided to strengthen the existing combat groups and additionally create four new multinational combat groups in Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. Thus, the total number of multinational NATO battle groups has reached eight, the number of permanently based personnel has actually doubled. France plays a leading role in the multinational group in Romania.
