There will be no punishment for receiving a pension or social assistance from the occupation authorities - Vereshchuk

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk declares that there will be no punishment for Ukrainian citizens receiving pensions or social assistance from the occupation authorities in the non-controlled territory.

"There will be no punishment," Vereschuk said on a national telethon on Friday, when asked if there would be any punishment for receiving a pension or social assistance from the occupation authorities in the non-controlled territory.

Regarding the payment of communal services in the occupied territory, the vice-prime minister did not give a direct answer.

"If this is an enterprise that is located in a temporarily occupied territory, then the taxes will go to serve the occupier. And then, let the people who asked you the question (addressing the journalist) ask themselves whether they want to serve the occupiers or not. If they don't if they want, of course, they don't need to pay. If they don't pay, their gas will be cut off. And what to do? That's why I said to evacuate," said Vereshchuk.
