NATO will provide Ukraine with hundreds of devices aimed at combating Russian and Iranian drones. Such a statement was made by Jens Stollenberg, secretary general of the organization, on Thursday in Brussels at a press conference held after the two-day meeting of defense ministers of the alliance member countries.
"As part of the Comprehensive Assistance Package, NATO will soon supply Ukraine with equipment to combat drones: we are talking about hundreds of jamming devices that will help render ineffective Russian and Iranian-made drones, as well as protect the Ukrainian population and critical infrastructure. In the long term, we will also help Ukraine transition from Soviet equipment to modern NATO equipment," said the Secretary General of the Alliance.
Stoltenberg emphasized that while NATO is not a party to the conflict, the Alliance's allies will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary. In this regard, he welcomed Spain's announcement to supply Ukraine with four Hokko launchers to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.
Other allies also provide assistance to Ukraine. I thank them and encourage them to continue. We also provide fuel, winter clothing as part of this Comprehensive NATO Assistance Package," he added.
