The ZNPP was again de-energized: the occupiers damaged the substation with a rocket attack

The Zaporizhzhya NPP turned out to be completely de-energized again - as a result of the rocket attack by the Russian invaders, the substation was damaged and the communication line with the station was disconnected, so the ZNPP is again on diesel generators, the Energoatom NPP reported on Wednesday, October 12, in Telegram.

"This morning, October 12, at 08:59, as a result of missile fire by Russian troops, the Dniprovska substation in the Dnipropetrovsk region was damaged. As a result, the 750kV communication line between the ZNPP and Dniprovska was accidentally disconnected. Therefore, the Zaporizhzhya NPP turned out to be completely de-energized. In automatic mode - generators," the report says.

Energoatom, as reported, prepared and sent another batch of diesel fuel to the ZNPP. "However, as of 10:00 a.m., the Russian side does not allow the company's convoy of vehicles to pass through," NAEK said.

"Russian shelling and damage to the energy infrastructure related to the operation of nuclear plants is the same manifestation of nuclear terrorism as the direct shelling of the ZNPP, and leads to the same consequences and threats of a radiation accident," Energoatom noted.

"The occupiers continue to neglect the nuclear and radiation safety of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, threatening the world with a radiation disaster," the company's statement emphasizes.

Energoatom reported that on October 8, due to enemy shelling, the Zaporizhzhya NPP was completely de-energized - the communication line was disconnected. However, on October 11, it was reported about its renewal.
