The European Union announced a decision on a military training mission for Ukrainian servicemen to take place on October 17. This is stated in the statement of the head of diplomacy of the European Union, Josep Borrell, on the website of the European External Action Service.
"I hope that at the next meeting of the Council of Foreign Affairs on October 17, we will be able to officially start our training mission for the Armed Forces of Ukraine," he wrote.
Borrell noted that despite the holding of pseudo-referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine, as well as threats by the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to use nuclear weapons, the European Union will only increase its support for Ukraine.
"As the EU, we have made it clear that we will never accept annexation and that we will not be intimidated by threats and escalation from Russia. On the contrary, we will strengthen our strategy of supporting Ukraine – military, financial and political; increasing pressure on Russia with the help of additional sanctions and supporting our international partner in overcoming the consequences of the war," the EU High Representative added.
