In his address to the Russians, Russian dictator Putin said that he would defend the territorial integrity and independence of Russia by all available means - he did not rule out the use of nuclear weapons.
According to Putin, the Western countries are pushing Ukraine to the complete defeat of Russia and in the future, to the deprivation of its sovereign features of the state. Under such conditions, according to Putin, Russia will defend its independence.
"Now the nuclear blackmail has gone. It is not only about encouraging the attack on the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant by the event, but also about the statements of some high-ranking NATO officials about the possibility of using weapons of mass destruction - nuclear weapons - against Russia. I want to remind those who allow themselves such statements about Russia that our country also has various means of defeat, and in terms of individual components, they are more modern than those of NATO countries. And when the territorial integrity of our country is threatened, for the protection of Russia and our people, we definitely use all the means at our disposal. This is not a bluff. Citizens of Russia can be sure that the territorial integrity of our homeland, our independence and freedom will be ensured. I will emphasize this again: by all means available to us. And those who will blackmail us with nuclear weapons should know that the wind rose can also turn in the other direction," Putin said.
In his address, Putin also announced a partial mobilization in Russia from September 21.
In addition, he instructed to ensure the security of "referendums" in Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
He declared that these are "historical lands of Novorossiya", and the decision to join Russia "will be supported".
