The press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, stated that Russia will consider the supply of long-range missiles to Ukraine as the entry of the United States into the war. This is reported by UP.
"If Washington decides to supply Kyiv with longer-range missiles, it will cross the "red line" and become a direct party to the conflict," Zakharova said.
She also said that helping Ukraine with weapons allegedly "leads to the prolongation of hostilities and new casualties among the civilian population" and that it increases the risk of a military clash between Russia and NATO countries.
We will remind, according to the media, Ukraine recently asked the US, in particular, for ATACMS tactical missile systems with a range of 300 kilometers, arguing that it is necessary to continue the liberation of the occupied territories.
In July, the US President's national security advisor, Jake Sullivan, noted that the US is not ready to provide ATACMS, as these weapons can be used to strike deep into the territory of the Russian Federation, and the White House fears excessive escalation.
Later, about 20 authoritative American military, diplomats and experts urged the White House to resolutely arm Ukraine. Among other things, they spoke in favor of providing ATACMS missiles and disagreed with Sullivan's fears that this would be too escalating.
